Messages and transcripts

Talkie encrypts connected voice messages, transcripts, and profile updates on the sending phone before upload. Recipients decrypt them on their phones. The server handles encrypted delivery copies and routing information, including accounts, group membership, timestamps, and delivery status.

Delivery payloads are removed after the recipient's phone saves and acknowledges them. Undelivered message payloads expire after 30 days. Audio and transcripts expire locally after seven days; cleanup runs when the app can run. Deleting a local message does not recall a friend's saved copy.

Your account and profile

Talkie uses Sign in with Apple. Your account identifier and device registration are used to connect friends and deliver messages. Names and optional photos help people recognize each other. Group membership controls and their encrypted details are retained separately from expiring voice messages.

Recording and notifications

Microphone access records the messages you choose to send. Transcription uses Apple's on-device speech recognition when available. Push delivery uses Apple Push Notification service. Message previews are encrypted for the receiving device; you can turn previews off in Talkie's notification settings.

This website

This site is hosted by Vercel. Hosting may process ordinary request information, such as IP addresses and browser details. We have not added advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies. New invitation details are carried in the URL fragment, which is not included in normal website requests. The invite page reads that fragment locally to open Talkie.
